Team Skills Challenge
9u - 13u

NEW! The Skills Competition is included in your tournament package at no additional cost
The challenges will be:
1. Home Run Challenge
2. Accuracy Throw
3. Timed home to first
4. Bat Exit Speed (off tee)
~ Each player on the roster must participate if possible and a player may participate in no more than two challenges ~
​Player sign up for each skills challenge will occur prior to the start of the event.
ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 36 REGISTRATIONS PER SESSION!
Registrations WILL NOT be taken at the field. There will also be an overall Team Winner, awarded to the team that has the highest point total. These will be held at the Grand Park Sports Complex with the Opening Ceremonies/Team Introductions. To minimize wait times, each team that signs up will receive a skills challenge time slot within the hour and 10-minute slot designated for your age division. Time slots assigned once all teams in your age group have registered. (Space is limited.) PLEASE make sure players are warmed up before participating.

HOME RUN CHALLENGE:
3 players per team are allowed to participate. Participants will be given 6 pitches. EACH TEAM MUST supply their own pitcher & catcher. All home run balls must be fair to be counted. Plate umpire will judge all balls. The highest total individual score will determine the individual winner. The highest combined team score will determine the team winner. Ties are broken based on the number of Home Runs hit on the 1st pitch to each individual batter(s).

Fence Distance (from the center field wall)
10U: 200 ft
11U/12U: 225 ft
13U: 300 ft

ACCURACY THROW CHALLENGE: 
3 players per team are allowed to participate. Participants will be given four throws at two different targets (8 throws overall). 
  • Station #1 - (4 Throws) 60 ft. to target -3 points-no bounce to the net -2 points-no bounce to anywhere on the target -1 point-bounce to the net or the target
  • Station #2 – (4 Throws) 100 ft. to target -3 points-no bounce to the net -2 points-no bounce to anywhere on the target -1 point-bounce to the net or the target.
​The highest total individual score will determine the individual winner. The highest combined team score will determine the team winner for each age group.

Participants must stay within marked boundary. Failure to do so will result in the disqualification of that throw.

TIMED HOME TO 1ST CHALLENGE:
4 players per team are allowed to participate. Players will be timed on their speed from Home to 1st. Each participant will be given one attempt. Time will start when the participant starts movement and will stop when he crosses the finish line. The fastest single time will determine the winner. The team winner will be awarded based on the average of the fastest scores of the four participants.

BAT EXIT SPEED: 
4 players per team are allowed to participate. Each player will get five swings off a tee, with speed determined by Pocket Radar directly behind the net. The fastest single speed will determine the winner. The team winner will be awarded based on the average of the fastest speeds of the four participants.
