2018 Summer Nationals preview

The Triple Crown Baseball Summer Nationals returns on July 15th for its 15th year! Nearly 100 teams and nine divisions ranging from 8u Kid Pitch to Upperclass wood bat will take the diamond in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the championship event.

The Summer Nationals is fueled by two things, a nationwide search to invite top teams looking for strong competition, and the growing popularity for teams and their families to combine their competitive baseball experience with a family vacation.

Myrtle Beach is known for its sand, ocean, golf and family activities. Therefore, it offers plenty of ways to stay entertained in between games – take your team to a watch a Myrtle Beach Pelicans game or if you’re looking to escape the heat, hit the beach or the Myrtle Waves Water Park!

Team Check-In/Opening Ceremonies will take place at TicketReturn.Com Field, home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. The first session’s ceremony will be held on July 15th from 4-8pm and the second session on July 20th from 12-4pm. Players, coaches and families can enjoy the awesome atmosphere along with a sprawling list of activities; pin trading, skills competitions, vendors, concessions, music and more! At Opening Ceremonies each club will be announced, and their team logo displayed on the jumbo scoreboard.

The 2018 Team Skills Competition includes four challenges: bunting, accuracy throw, timed home-to-first relay and bat exit speed. There will be a prize awarded to the winning team in each event and an additional award to the one team that has the highest number of points combined from all events. The opportunity to warm-up your skills and win some hardware before the tournament is an experience you won’t want to miss!

After the skills competition finishes, the real battle begins. Teams will fight through a 5-game guarantee with unique double-elimination brackets that keep you in the right competitive mix. The city of Myrtle Beach as well as the surrounding communities have embraced this Triple Crown Championship and the teams that come to compete. This year Triple Crown Baseball is proud to host teams from 20 states for some quality baseball by the beach!
